On Stress Management

No matter how experienced you are and how many projects you have completed, you face stress. Some people do that often; others do not, but all of them handle it one way or the other. Here are some best practices to ease, release and prevent the stress caused by your job.

No Fighting

In most cases, there is no point in maintaining or fighting stress. On the contrary, it will raise its level to even higher levels. The very first thing here is to understand that you have stress and accept it. This acceptance is essential as you have to understand your condition to be able to deal with it.

Some people may try the “fight fire with fire“ technique. They may use alcohol, drugs, or other ways to affect their mental state. However, despite the apparent success initially, this approach will lead to even more harm in the long-term perspective. Please, avoid it from the very beginning. This way, you prevent health issues and self-destruction in the future as there are much better ways to deal with stress.

Find The Source

The first thing you need to do is to understand the sources of the stress.

  1. You need to understand what caused issues in the past and write these sources to the list. It will be a good reference point to understand the progress in dealing with stress.

  2. Then you should check what causes stress right now. Put these sources at the top of the list as they will be the first candidates to deal with.

  3. Finally, you have to think about what may cause stress in the future. Check areas related to already discovered sources, think about possible complications in your plans, and predict what may irritate or let you down. You may put found sources on the list too.

Not let us see what you can do about all these sources.

Let It Go

The main point of handling stress is to relax and let it go. However, this is just the first step. The next step is to prevent stress from appearing in the future. That is why we have analyzed sources of stress previously.

To prevent stress from returning, you should work on the source that may trigger that stress again. It is usually better to start from the present sources, then work on the past sources to understand roots, and finally check what may cause stress in the future.

Many practices may help you to handle the source of stress and deal with it. Many of these practices can be done even by beginners who have never done such things before. Meditation is one such practice that every person may try to do every day. It significantly reduces the stress level and reduces the consequences. Another way is to ask for support from family and friends. You may share your issue and feelings related to it and get compassion or advice in return.

More advanced practices include reading specialized books about stress and its sources, visiting stress management classes, or even getting help from a psychotherapist. These approaches are usually more effective but typically require more time and effort.

So, here are all the standard practices to handle a street. Try them, find the way that suits your best, get rid of stress, and live a happy life!
